On this tour we
will cover approximately 2100 miles from the time we land at Calais
to the time we board the ferry again at Calais. Tour overview: Meet in the car park at the entrance to the East Dock Dover on Friday morning and board together. Then it's up to the lounge area get to know each other over a coffee or three. Once we disembark at Calais this first day we put some miles under our belts in order to reach our first overnight stay at Bernkastel Kues. Bernkastel-Kues is one of the most appreciated Moselle towns and is proudly called the centre of the middle Moselle. Guests come here every year, from all over the world, to seek and find diverting recreation in the "international town of vines and wine." Situated on both sides of the river, underneath the ruin of Landshut Castle, the old town invites you to go for a stroll through its historical lanes. Here you will discover its unique, almost hap-hazard ensemble of wonderful medieval half-timbered houses. Todays mileage approx 300 miles Day 2. Bernkastel Kues to Baden Baden. This Spa town is famous for its Casino, Theatre and good food. This is our second overnight stop before we get on the B500 in the morning. Todays mileage approx 170 miles Day 3. Baden Baden to Bad Sackingen. Today sees us enjoying the fantastic engineering and the sweeping bends of the infamous Schwarzwald Hochstrasse, The Black Forest High Street/ Road or B500. Today we follow the road South towards the town of Bad Sackingen. Todays mileage approx 170 miles Day 4 Bad Sackingen to Bormio. Travelling through Switzerland we will head for the Fluella Pass before continueing on towards Bormio. Todays mileage approx 220 miles Day 5 Bormio to Grado Crossing some amazing mountain passes and roads we head for Grado. For relaxing on the beach, this is one of the best places in the northern Adriatic, the resort extending eastwards along the length of the sandy island. The water is safe and warm as a bath, and almost as shallow indeed, the name of the town comes from the gentle angle of its shore.Todays mileage approx 250 miles Day 6 Day Off Grado Enjoy the beach or a beer or two in the town Day 7 Grado to Graz which is Austria's second largest city after Vienna. Graz is probably the most beautiful city in Austria and has no less than 6 universities. Todays mileage approx 220 miles Day 8 Graz to Brno the second largest city in the Czech Republic. The City center is full of historical buildings, old churches, theaters, fountains, sculptures, clubs, restaurants, etc. It is very compact, so it's possible to walk around most of the places of interest. Todays mileage approx 200 miles Day 9 Brno to Prague The amazing city of Prague in the Czech Republic. Today is a rest day for those that wish to explore the city, alternatively for those that are happy to ride, the tour leader is available to go out with you or of course you are free to explore by yourselves. This evening we'll have dinner together. Todays mileage approx 150 miles Day 10 Day Off Prague Loads to see and do in this great City Day 11 Prague to Nürnberg (Nuremburg) Not to be confused with Nürburg is a lovely Bavarian City well known as the location for the Nuremburg Trials which were held from 1945/1946.. Todays mileage approx 200 miles Day 12 Nürnberg to Koblenz. Fortress walls and castle towers, palaces and patrician houses are vivid illustrations of a turbulent past. Founded by the Romans, Koblenz is set at the famous Deutsches Eck (German Corner), where the Rhine and Moselle rivers meet. Todays mileage approx 230 miles Day 13 Koblenz to Lille. Lille has got a vey nice historic centre, with old houses and mansions that look like those of Brussels or Amsterdam. Its known for its art, culture and architecture. Todays mileage approx 250 miles Day 14 Lille to Calais Todays mileage approx 70 miles
