France: Our gateway to Europe. France has a great deal to offer great food, quaint villages, chateaus, great roads and a whole lot more. Remember this is a motorbiking holiday not a test of stamina, so we will have plenty of stops to take in the views, and to refuel both bikes and bodies Tour overview: Meet in the lounge on the ferry on Saturday morning (Hull to Zeebrugge on Thursday evening at additional cost) and get to know each other over a coffee or three. Here will go through some brief safety details and group riding policies for those that have not ridden in groups previously. The ferry ride will be over in no time and then we are off heading South .We will take as many smaller roads as possible in order that we ride through typical french villages so that immediately we get the feel of the French way of living. Heading South from Calais, we head towards the coast and toward Chartres We will use what is locally known as the 'Route de poisson', which is the old route that the fish marketers used to use from Calais down to Paris which is a favourite route amongst the local bikers. We will then skirt around Paris heading West towards Le mans before continueing South towards the town of Chateauraux.. With great, quiet roads and typical French villages the route South is just made for bikes. With plenty to see and do this motorcycle tour offers something for everyone and if there is something specific you would like to visit then let us know as early as possible and we will do what we can to incorporate it into the itnerary. The accommodation / stop offs are well situated, friendly and comfortable. Heading South West towards the town of Oradour (The Martyred Village) which has not been rebuilt since WW2. Then it's North again as we make our way towards the spa town of Bagnoles De L'Orme favoured by the wealthy French. Today we head to Abbeville for our final night before our last day's riding to Calais for the ferry trip home. This motorbike tour is a round trip tour staying at a different hotel each night and is suitable for all types of bikes. It has a great mix of roads with straights, twists and smooth rolling bends. Suitable for all levels of riders whether you are an experienced tourer or if this is your first motorcycle tour into Europe. Tour
