Scotland: The bonny banks of Loch Lomond, Glencoe, Ben Nevis, Rob Roy and everything else we can squeeze in on this fantastic guided motorbike tour of the West & Central Scotland,( We won't actually see Rob Roy) including Lochs, twisting mountain roads and Glens with some of the most dramatic scenery in the UK.
Starting with the rolling, heather strewn lowlands of the south west, this tour sees us riding through some amazing locations and progressing along the west coast where the scenery starts to become more rugged and mountainous as we approach the southern Highlands . The route along the West coast is nothing less than breath taking with mountains dominating the vista before heading inland Many of the locations you may recognise from films such as Harry Potter where the backdrops for Hogwart's are in and around the area of Glencoe and of course who can forget Mel Gibson in Braveheart. The village of Lanark, where the young William Wallace grows up was constructed in the Glen Nevis Valley at the foot of Ben Nevis. (it has since been dismantled) Glencoe was also the scene of the battle between the warring Scots tribes in the film Highlander. The journey south opens up before you with idyllic coastal views and good quality roads. The local hospitality encountered along the way rekindles ones belief in the human condition and once you have made this trip you will be longing for the next one. This route could be "All things to all bikers". The route incorporates just about everything from motorways and dual carriage ways to wide, fast sweeping A roads, tight and technical B roads and single track roads and mountain passes that experienced Alpine riders would enjoy.
